Jawatan Kosong Agronomist in Bintulu

Job Description

1. Crop Management & Improvement

• Monitor oil palm growth, yield, and overall health for all estates under Palmhead Group
• Develop and implement best practices for plantation management, including planting, pruning, manuring, and pest/disease control.
• Conduct soil fertility assessments and recommend proper soil management practices.

2. Fertilizer Recommendation & Manuring Schedule

• Develop & propose fertilizer recommendations based on soil and leaf analysis
• Plan and implement manuring schedule to ensure optimal nutrient supply for different growth stage of oil palm
• Monitor fertilizer application and adjust recommendations based on crop performance and environmental conditions

3. Pest & Disease Management

• Identify pest and disease outbreaks and develop integrated pest management strategies
• Monitor and control the spread of pest and disease by implementing control measures

4. Nursery Support

• Provide agronomy advice and support to oil palm nurseries including seedling management, fertilizer application, pest & disease control to ensure healthy seedling growth for transplanting

5. Others

• Compile and analyze agronomic data including rainfall, soil health, crop growth and yield trends
• Prepare regular reports on crop condition and plantation performance for top management
• Provide training and technical guidance to field staff on agronomic practices and ensure effective implementation in the field
• Conduct regular field visits and agronomic audits to evaluate the plantation performance and recommend improvements.
• Duties and responsibilities of Agronomist shall not be limited to the above mentioned and shall be subjected to additional task as assigned/ delegated by the Management/ Immediate Superior from time to time.

Job Requirement

• Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Plant Science or other related field
• 8 – 10 years experience in relevant field
• Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, plant nutrition and pest management
• Strong research, decision making, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bintulu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Agronomist: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• Mandarin (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
