Job Description:

• Contribute effectively to project execution and work closely with team members and discipline leads to deliver high-quality results.
• Perform detailed electrical design activities including layout drawings, material take-offs (MTO), and related deliverables.
• Support and maintain team productivity, quality, and morale at an optimum level.
• Coordinate electrical design activities and interfaces to ensure accuracy, consistency, and overall design quality.
• Apply sound design techniques and methodologies in accordance with project requirements.
• Provide input on electrical bulk material pricing for project and tender cost estimates.
• Interpret and apply applicable design codes, industry standards, and project specifications to meet contractual requirements.
• Apply best practices in electrical drafting and design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Understand client specifications (e.g. PTS, DEP) and deliver services in accordance with contract requirements.
• Prepare and review electrical design deliverables, including but not limited to:
• Cable routing drawings
• Lighting and small power layout drawings
• Earthing and lightning protection layout drawings
• Equipment and substation layout drawings
• Electrical installation detail drawings
• Interconnection and wiring diagrams
• Single line and schematic diagrams
• Prepare and review cable schedules and electrical material take-offs (MTO).
• Develop 3D electrical models and contribute to model reviews at 30%, 60%, and 90% project milestones.
• Liaise with electrical engineers in the preparation and review of single line diagrams and schematics.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of hazardous area requirements and select suitable electrical equipment for hazardous locations.
• Provide technical input to electrical engineers on equipment specifications and electrical bulk materials.
• Provide design input to other engineering disciplines, including requirements for cable trenches, plot plans, and related interfaces.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate from a recognized technical institute or training center.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical design, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Proficient in electrical design software and drafting tools such as AutoCAD.
• Experience with SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and guidelines including IEEE and ANSI.
• Strong technical understanding of the electrical detailed design process and work sequences.
• Able to execute tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel and Word.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
