What will you be doing? The successful candidate will oversee manufacturing processes, manage production staff, and coordinate resources. Responsibilities include leading daily Tier meetings to review performance, communicating job expectations, planning and supervising job results, scheduling personnel, resolving problems, and reporting results. Additionally, they will ensure equipment is well-maintained, carry out autonomous maintenance, provide coaching and counselling to employees, enforce systems and policies, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and contribute to team efforts as needed.
- Supervise production activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and adherence to manufacturing processes, accounting for 20% of responsibilities.
- Manage resources effectively, including supervising attendance, maintaining accurate discipline, and compiling and analyzing production performance data, comprising 25% of duties.
- Focus on continuous improvement, including maintaining workplace safety, ensuring accurate reporting, conducting equipment maintenance, and facilitating communication between management and employees, covering 55% of responsibilities.
What will you need to be successful?
- Education - Candidates should hold a Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma in Mechanical or Material Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Licenses - Applicants should possess supervisory and coaching skills, as well as proficiency in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience - A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in a machining environment is required. Candidates should also have extensive experience in operating CNC machines and various secondary processes such as deburring, polishing, sandblasting, CNC grinding, and CMM. Additionally, experience in the medical device industry and regulated environments is preferred.
- Competencies - Key proficiencies include strong organizational and leadership skills, the ability to complete written reports accurately, proficiency in MS Office applications, and the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
