HSE Technician (Immediate Hiring)

Job Description

Preferably SABAH / LABUAN / SARAWAK CANDIDATES

Location: Sabah / Sarawak

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE programs and routines using established standards and procedures to ensure excellent performance.
• Participate in HSE monitoring activities (e.g., scheduled waste, chemicals, noise, audiometry tests) and walkabouts to ensure legal compliance.
• Serve as a resource and liaison for HSE procedures, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistent practices.
• Conduct and coordinate HSE induction, training, and contractor toolbox talks, particularly for high-risk activities.
• Perform and coordinate first-line functional assessments related to HSE, follow up on findings, and ensure action item closures.
• Review HSE risk assessments and procedures for relevancy and completeness.
• Review and provide feedback on Emergency Response Plans and Incident Action Plans.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements through legal register reviews.
• Execute Contractor HSE Management programs to ensure contractor compliance with HSEMS and other requirements.
• Verify administration and compliance of Scheduled Waste/Chemical Management processes, including inventory, labeling, and contractor supervision.
• Maintain rapport with local authorities such as DOSH, DOE, and BOMBA.

Candidate must possess at least:

• Possessing a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) competency is considered an advantage.
• Diploma in Engineering requires SSS competency.
• At least 3 years of experience in HSE roles within the oil, gas, or related industries.
• Knowledge of OSHA and HSE regulations and standards.
• Ability to conduct safety training and educate employees and dealers on safety practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime if needed.

Candidate mandatory to attach latest CV and relevant Certificates

Education: Minimum diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant HSE discipline from a recognized institution (e.g., University, INSTEP, Polytechnic).

Job Type: Contract

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Saturday & Sunday as required

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Willingness to travel to Sabah/Sarawak
