We’re looking for
A dynamic, proactive risk monitoring and analysis who has a passion to work with structured and unstructured data and is always ready to push boundaries and explore further. Your eagerness to learn and explore coupled with our mission to financially empower customers across the region will enable BigPay to build the future of finance through technology and become a financial services company. This is a fast-paced role in a somewhat ambiguous and ever changing environment so the ability to be flexible is key to success.

We are hiring
Risk Analyst. The position reports to the Operational Risk Lead.

About the job

• Develop new risk strategies and rules, and deliver actionable insights to analyse large and complex data sets to investigate potential fraud/money laundering patterns

• Analyse fraud/money-laundering trends and institute appropriate proactive actions to control financial exposures taking into consideration risk versus customer impact

• Keep current on fraud/money-laundering trends for the financial industry

• Deliver periodic reports to management, stakeholders and regulators

• Act as subject matter expert on transaction monitoring tools with a strong knowledge of the platforms, rule design capabilities and functionalities

To be successful you will

• Have knowledge and experience (2+ years) in fraud prevention and anti money-laundering

• Have a proven experience in data analysis and programming languages, preferably BigQuery SQL

• Have hands on experience with Business Intelligence tools, preferably Metabase and Google Data Studio

• Familiar with industry standard transaction monitoring tools

• Have a strong understanding of the e-wallet and payment technology industry

• Be customer focused with a passion to work closely with other internal stakeholders and teams

• Be results oriented with strong influencing skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced ambiguous environment while prioritising and managing multiple responsibilities

• Demonstrate aptitude to think creatively to identify new ways to approach common risk and data security problems

• Familiarity with local regulations on banking and finance is an added advantage
