The practice advises many of the world’s best performing airlines, shipping lines, integrators, forwarders, airports, leasing firms, etc. A dedicated data analytics and business intelligence team is responsible for providing leading industry databases and analytical tools to our clients, including comprehensive air and express cargo demand & supply databases, forecasts, and optimization tools. The data analytics team operates from offices in Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur. About the function

Accenture Cargo provides a suite of market leading data products and tools to the global aviation and transportation industries. We pride ourselves on delivering solutions of the highest quality to our clients and are now looking for a passionate Data Analyst to join our Kuala Lumpur team.

As a Data Analyst you will develop new and further refine established state-of-the art data products and analytical tools that help our clients in their commercial decision-making related to network, fleet, revenue management, procurement, etc. You will be developing your technical, analytical and communication skill set as well as your understanding of the global aviation and transportation industry. The learning curve will be exciting and will enable you to build a foundation of skills and experience which will prepare you for more senior roles.

You will be part of a team committed to expand our product portfolio, and to further improve our already high level of data quality and customer service. You will closely cooperate with a product lead to facilitate the continued development of a specific product roadmap related to airline and ocean-liner’s networks. You will be working with multiple and complex sources of information including immense databases. You will drive the adoption of new and exciting analytical techniques and explore applications to further develop our products and tools. Your day-to-day activities include conducting analysis, developing databases and analytical models, evaluating, and improving the methodology of our tools and products. As well as defining requirements for BI tools and liaising with clients on market trends and product usage. All this by working closely with team members in both our main offices, in Kuala Lumpur and in Amsterdam.

The Data Analytics & Business Intelligence team is close knit, multi-cultural, and committed to having fun while delivering high impact products, tools, and analytics to our clients. The team also works in close partnership with the consulting teams consisting of high-powered and talented individuals, who have a blend of airline industry and top-tier strategy consulting experience.

Requirements

To receive an interview, candidates must have:

• At minimum a Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record from a top tier institution in a quantitative field (e.g. information systems, computer sciences, econometrics, or other data related field)
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in data management, data analysis or similar
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and conceptual skills
• Proven proficiency in SQL and database management
• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytical techniques and design analytical models
• Capability and drive to solve complex problems
• Accurate, attention to detail oriented, and able to work in a structured and proactive way
• Self-motivation and initiative to work independently, as well as part of an international team
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, while still delivering a flawless product
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

Other desired skills:

• Knowledge of Python, R, or machine learning techniques is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience with cloud-based data technologies is a plus
