The Impact You’ll Make

The Strategic Commodity Manager will work collaboratively with Supply Chain Business Managers and Supplier Engineering & Technology group to strategize, organize and control business/contracts/negotiations for strategic acquisition of materials and services of technical or contractual nature within Global Supply Chain.

This Strategic Commodity Manager will be responsible for analytically formulating supply base strategy, driving supplier contract management, conducting supplier negotiations and executing comprehensive supplier management strategies based on semiconductor technology landscapes and global business environments within our sheet metal fabrication supply chain commodity.

What You’ll Do

• Facilitate most supplier commercial aspects, negotiations, renegotiations and contract addendums. Lead quarterly business reviews (QBR), negotiate performance-based and preferred supplier agreements.
• Advises commodity team leader on strategic plans.
• Responsible for the business relationship with the supplier and act as an escalation point for both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Represents strategic commodity management on a cross-functional strategic commodity team that focuses on supply challenges and ensures internal/external customer needs are satisfied. Works cross-functionally with product, manufacturing and quality engineers as well as procurement, finance, and product support.
• Define and monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement; then drives cross functional teams to address and close gaps to meet objectives.
• Regularly evaluate cost and quality performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. Develop and apply a strategic commodity plan to define a preferred supplier base for sheet metal commodities.
• Encourage and coordinate early supplier involvement on new product designs using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality, cost and manufacturability.
• Project management - supplier exits and transitions.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or related degree
• Eight (8) years of commodity management experience, preferably with sheet metal fabrication commodity.
• 3 years of working experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry is a plus.
• Strong experiences in negotiating various types of contractual agreements.
• Demonstrated experience working successfully in a matrix organization.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience giving presentations and interaction with director reports, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership
• Proficient on Excel and Power Point, and SAP
