INTRODUCTION

We are an established academy that provides the Cambridge Primary and Secondary International Programme (From Year 1- Year 11, IGCSE).

We are looking for experienced teachers teaching the Cambridge IGCSE English (as a First and Second language) subjects especially those with a proven track record of helping students achieve their educational goals.

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Raise student attainment and achievement standards in English and monitor and support student progress.
• To teach lower to upper secondary English as a first or second language in small class-size settings (Max 16).
• To deliver engaging and motivating lessons to students across all stages.
• Ensure that all lessons are planned with clear aims and objectives.
• To ensure that all lessons are delivered in line with the departmental schemes of work and centre policies.
• To take into account the differing ability lessons of students and differentiate work accordingly.
• To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their learning and in reviewing their progress against targets.
• To ensure that all students are known by name and that the classroom atmosphere is positive at all times.
• To encourage and foster intellectual curiosity.
• To deal with inappropriate behaviour quickly and effectively according to the school behaviour policy.
• To check that all subject matter is effectively communicated and understood by all groups of students.
• To identify students at risk of underachievement in liaison with the principal and ensure that appropriate interventions are in place.
• To produce high-quality resources and take part in the creation of new schemes of work.
• To ensure that there is a high standard of display work in the classroom, which is changed frequently.
• To track progress through assessment and reporting within own teaching groups.
• To work as a team supporting other teaching members in spreading and sharing good practices.
• To ensure effective communication and consultation with parents and carers of students.
• Be willing to attend relevant courses/training that will stimulate and enhance the role of teacher of English and wider role within the school community.

REQUIREMENTS

• A passion for teaching English
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to teach at all levels up to IGCSE is an advantage
• At least 3 years of teaching experience
• Possess a related qualification
• Able to incorporate ICT into lessons
• Ability to motivate and enthuse students, and work collaboratively with other colleagues
• Strong subject knowledge
• Calmness under pressure
• Resilience, commitment and confidence
• Both independent and a team player
• Flexible and adaptable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
